Nora and Dad on Spring Break in Orlando in1996

In the Spring1996 when Nora was in her senior year at BC, John and his BC friends went off to Key West for Spring Break. Nora was bummed because she didn't have any plans and was home in Boston by herself. It so happened that I had a business conference in Orlando and I invited Nora to go with me....daughter and Dad on Spring Break together! The trip turned out to be a lot fun and a great time for father and daughter to have chance to play together. The photo of us on the left was taken at Universal Studios. After the trip we had the photo blown up into a poster so that Nora could hang it up in her dorm room at BC.

Of course we also visited Disney World, and by coincidence it happened to be Biker Week at Daytona Beach and the entire park was filled motorcyclists dressed in their leather garb. When Nora went into the Small World exhibit, we were loaded into a boat that was completely filled with bikers. It was very strange cruising along in the boat with small voices singing, "It's a small world after all."

Probably the highlight of the trip was our night out on the town at Pleasure Island, where we danced the night away and I am sure we had a few people wondering about the old guy with the young girl. Near the end of the evening we went into an exhibit where we made a musical video. We donned hats and I played the drums while Nora became the lead singer to our rendition of the song, Love Shack. We had a blast. Watch the video yourself and have a good laugh. Be patient, it may take a few minutes to load.
