Ancestry - Gleason Sullivan Ennis and Cleary
Both my mother and father were born in Boston of Irish descent. My father's parents were from Ireland and my mother's family arrived from Ireland by way of Newfoundland, Canada. My grandfather, William Gleeson, was from Youghal, Ireland and his wife, Ellen Sullivan, was from Roscarbery; both located along the sea in County Cork. My grandfather, Thomas Ennis, hailed from Merasheen Island. Newfoundland. My step-grandfather, Patrick Dooley, was from Carbonear and my grandmother, Agnes Cleary, was from Riverhead, Harbour Grace; both located on the coast in the Conception Bay area in Newfoundland. Unfortunately it wasn't until after my parents had passed away that we visited both Ireland and Newfoundland in a quest to find our roots. |
