Interview of Mary Gleason by Granddaughter, Nora Gleason, April 1996
While Nora was a nursing student at Boston College 1996, she had a class assignment to interview an elderly person. Nora chose as her subject her 90 year-old grandmother, Mary. I believe the audio tape is the only known recording of my mother's voice. The purpose of Nora's interview was to gain a understanding of what it is like growing older, but the tape reveals many aspects of Mary's life, especially what is was like when she was younger and growing up in a large family.
